Quote of the Day: Corn Syrup
“Very simply, we subsidize high-fructose corn syrup in this country, but not carrots. While the surgeon general is raising alarms over the epidemic of obesity, the president is signing farm bills designed to keep the river of cheap corn flowing, guaranteeing that the cheapest calories in the supermarket will continue to be the unhealthiest.”

Bees
With all the news lately about mass bee die off from pesticides (http://portlandtribune.com/cr/24-news/155022-massive-bee-die-off-found-in-wilsonville)it is nice to see that they are at least not all gone from our neighborhood. These pics were from a neighbors thyme lawn. It was covered with bees! And this in identified bee like critter.

Quote of the Day: Wit
Wit has truth in it; wisecracking is simply calisthenics with words.

My GPS has ESP
Driving in today we were on our way to a routine Doctors visit when I noticed something odd. Our GPS was telling us how many minutes it was to the Doctor's office. This was only strange because I had not told it we were going there before heading to work. Come to think of it the thing normally tells me how far work is in the morning and when I head home from work it tells me how far home is.
How does it know??
